Swimmers proud as Bahrain flag bearers

Swimmers Saud Ghali and Amani Al-Obaidli were chosen to carry the Kingdom of Bahrain’s flag at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024.
Ghali shared his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “I express my sincere thanks to the Bahrain Olympic Committee for selecting me to carry the kingdom’s flag in the largest global sporting event.
It’s a beautiful moment that I will never forget, especially in an unusual opening ceremony with great audience participation and media coverage.”
He added: “I cherish that precious confidence which drives me to put more effort to improve my level to be responsible in my upcoming sporting career and wish all the national teams good luck in the Olympics.”
Al-Obaidli echoed this sentiment, expressing her great happiness and stating, “It is a great honour that I am selected by two players from the swimming team to carry the flag at the inaugural Olympics.
It is a tribute to the whole swimming family and not just to us personally. For me, it is a great historical moment that will remain immortal in my memory, and I hope to always be worthy of this confidence.
“Every athlete wishes to be selected to carry the flag, and having this opportunity will serve as a catalyst for my athletic journey and a great memory.”
