Mohammad Darwish named new head of activities at Bahrain Philanthropic Society

Mohammad Darwish has been named head of the Committee for Activities, Events, and Innovation at The Bahrain Philanthropic Society.

In this role, he will spearhead unique initiatives, adopt new fundraising techniques, and introduce a fresh communication strategy aimed at engaging different segments of the community.

Additionally, he will create opportunities to better support the underprivileged families under the society’s care, working closely with the Committee for Social Care and Services.

His appointment is seen as a step forward for the society, aligning with its future goals.

Experience

Darwish brings a wealth of experience from various fields. As an engineer and seasoned administrator, he has a background in investment and real estate.

His extensive media career includes presenting numerous television and radio programmes that have resonated well with audiences.

He has also played a key role in organising cultural events, notably the TEDx seminars in Bahrain. His academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Communications from the University of Leeds and a professional diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Lecturer

He is a lecturer at several universities and accredited training centres in media and marketing.

Furthermore, he writes a regular column, “Out of the Flock,” discussing current local and regional issues, and has recently launched a podcast of the same name, featuring prominent community members.

Throughout his career, Darwish has held leadership positions at several institutions, including the Bahrain Ministry of Information, Abu Dhabi Investment House, TAIB Bank, and Capital Real Estate Company.

He currently serves as the Secretary-General of the Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Award at Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Group.
