Shura Council's Gender Balance Committee Hosts Annual Gathering for Employees' Children

For the sixth consecutive year, the Gender Balance Committee of The Shura Council General Secretariat organised a special event for the children of its employees. This initiative seeks to introduce parliamentary culture to the younger generation and acquaint them with the legislative authority's role in the nation's progress under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Sponsored by HE Mrs Karima Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, the event is part of the Gender Balance Committee's agenda. Led by Dr Fawzia Al Jeeb, the committee strives to elevate the General Secretariat's efforts that support Bahraini women and families, thereby improving their quality of life.

The event featured a variety of educational and recreational activities for the children of employees, encouraging social interaction, national pride, and a greater understanding of parliamentary culture.

The programme featured a video explaining the Shura Council's duties and the General Secretariat's role, followed by a visit to the main hall where council sessions occur.

The children participated in a pottery painting activity themed "Love of the Nation" to stimulate their creativity. Additionally, competitions were held to stimulate engagement and dialogue.

Parents expressed their appreciation to the General Secretariat of the Shura Council for strengthening relationships among employees and focusing on their children, aiming to instil a sense of love and loyalty to the nation. They hope that the council will continue to organise such events to reinforce social ties among employees.
