Five catering companies are vying for a two-year contract to supply food services to all government hospitals in Bahrain, the Tender Board revealed on Thursday. The hospitals require bidders to offer a variety of menus for patients. They also require bidders to keep up the daily transport of food to and within the hospital premises, operating from 7 am to 7 pm each day.
The bids run the gamut from BHD 3,499,870.800 by Food City to BHD 7,384,440.000 by Jalil Catering. The selected supplier(s) will service the following sites: Salmaniya Medical Complex, Psychiatric Hospital, Jidhafs Maternity Hospital, Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo Community Medical Center, Muharraq Geriatric Hospital, Multiple Sclerosis Center, and Abdulrahman Kanoo Kidney Dialysis Center.
This contract aims to enhance the quality and efficiency of food services provided to patients across government hospitals in Bahrain.
Prospective bidders must meet specific criteria: have over five years of experience in catering services, employ a dietitian throughout the contract period, ensure valid health check-ups for all kitchen staff, and provide a contingency plan for potential operational disruptions.
The Tender Board will evaluate the bids based on these criteria and announce the winning bidder(s) in due course.
