LMRA to cooperate with Jordan in fighting human trafficking

Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons (NCCPIP), Nibras Mohammed Talib, discussed enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the field of combating trafficking in persons.
This came during a meeting held by the CEO via video conference with the National Committee to Prevent Human Trafficking in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, headed by the Secretary-General of Judicial Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Judge Dr. Saad Al-Lawzi, Deputy Chairman of the National Committee to Prevent Human Trafficking, and in the presence of Ambassador Dr. Arwa Hassan Al-Sayed, Head of the Human Rights Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and several specialized officials from both countries.
Talib pointed out the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries, exchanging expertise in the field of combating trafficking in persons, and developing relevant tools and procedures, stressing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s readiness to provide all its expertise and experiences to support the system of combating trafficking in persons in Jordan.
During the meeting, the CEO reviewed the system of combating trafficking in persons in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is based on several pillars, most notably protection, prevention, prosecution and partnership. He touched on several initiatives, projects and measures taken by the Kingdom to enhance efforts to combat human trafficking and preserve the rights of employers, including the establishment of the Migrant Workers Protection Center.
