The race for the vacant seat in Bahrain's first constituency is heating up, with over 10 candidates officially declaring their intentions to run in the upcoming by-election. The seat became available after the previous representative, Mohammed Al Hussaini, was disqualified.

The election is scheduled for September, and the campaign period officially begins next week. Already, candidates are actively engaging with voters, hosting meet-and-greets, and utilizing social media platforms to spread their messages.

Among the declared candidates are prominent figures like Dr Essam Al Alawi, businessman Ibrahim Al Shaikh, Khalid Sulaibeekh, Saleh Al Sada, Khawla Al Busmait, Nada bin Shams, Abdullah Al Sehli, Ahmed Al Tamimi, and Shaikh Mohammed Al Qallaf.

The candidates are focusing on a range of issues, including economic development, social services, and addressing the concerns of local residents. Several candidates have already launched initiatives aimed at improving the lives of those living in the constituency.

The first constituency, located in the Al Busaiteen area of Muharraq, comprises four electoral blocks, and the upcoming by-election is expected to draw significant attention from voters.
