Bahrain remains at the forefront of the battle against human trafficking, propelled by the endeavours of figures such as Nibras Talib, Chief Executive of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking.

At a recent session of the National Committee, Nibras Talib reiterated Bahrain's resolve to enhance the working environment and sustain stable contractual relationships. This involves intensifying efforts to raise awareness about illegal practices in the labour market, particularly those associated with human trafficking.

Talib observed that Bahrain's proactive measures have garnered increasing international trust, positioning the Kingdom as a model for other nations. Maintaining this reputation demands ongoing vigilance.

His Excellency reviewed current initiatives, facilitated by collaboration between the LMRA and various government bodies. These initiatives aim to protect all parties in the labour market, reduce legal disputes, and curb illegal practices.

The meeting addressed various topics, including an evaluation of Bahrain's anti-human trafficking system. It also discussed key points from the U.S. Department of State's report on the classification of countries in combating human trafficking, identifying Bahrain's areas of strength for further development.

The committee emphasised the need for coordinated efforts between government and non-governmental entities, increasing awareness through collaboration with embassies of labour-exporting countries and civil society organisations. Additionally, the committee stressed the importance of continued training and qualification of national cadres to identify and assist victims or potential victims.

As Bahrain continues to strengthen its stance against human trafficking, ongoing collaboration and training will be essential in maintaining its leadership and safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
