Critical topics were addressed at the weekly Cabinet Meeting led by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at Gudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet reviewed the recent visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the UAE, which solidified the longstanding relationship between Bahrain and the UAE. Discussions with President Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan concentrated on advancing their partnership.

The Cabinet acknowledged the strong relationship between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, particularly through initiatives such as the In-Country Value Programme in Industry (Takamul), which aims to ensure fair treatment of products from both countries. This programme, developed through collaboration between the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council and the leaders of both nations, is anticipated to benefit both economies.

The Cabinet also recognised Bahrain’s e-passport for receiving the Reddot Design Award 2024 and emphasised the importance of adhering to safety guidelines and warnings issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They reiterated the need to support Bahrain’s youth and commended the efforts of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports to enhance their skills.

Concerns were raised about rising tensions in the region, with a call for all parties to avoid aggravating the situation. The Cabinet urged for international support to help maintain regional stability.

In addition, several memoranda were approved covering financial accounts, legal matters, and cooperation agreements in education and sports. The Cabinet reviewed economic growth data for early 2024, noting progress in the employment and training of Bahraini citizens, and considered Bahrain’s participation in international events and visits by foreign dignitaries.
