Hassan Majid Aman, a student at Isa Town Secondary Boys School, achieved a bronze medal at the first International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO), held in Clark, Philippines, from 31 July to 6 August. This event was sponsored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The Minister of Education, Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, extended his congratulations to the student, noting that this success showcases the talent and creative potential within Bahrain’s schools. He also thanked the educators and specialists who prepared and trained the Bahraini students for the Olympiad, contributing to this accomplishment.
Bahrain's involvement in this Olympiad is part of the Ministry of Education's initiatives to advance students' scientific skills in various fields of science, aligning with the ministry’s developmental goals and sustainable development objectives. This international participation provided a valuable opportunity to expand students’ theoretical knowledge and practical experience in scientific activities, elevating Bahrain's profile on the global stage.
It is worth mentioning that Bahrain and the IAEA signed the updated version of the Country Programme Framework for 2024-2029 last September. The renewal of this framework enhances Bahrain’s access to the knowledge support provided by the IAEA.
