The Public Prosecution has concluded its investigation into the case of an Asian national selling undersized fish in Bahrain and has ordered his referral to the Lower Criminal Court.
The incident came to light when the Directorate of Fishing Ports at the Supreme Council for Environment filed a report with the Public Prosecution.
The report detailed the apprehension of the suspect, a street vendor, who was found in possession of six refrigerators containing various marine creatures, including hammour fish, all of which were smaller than the legally permissible size.
Following the report, the Public Prosecution promptly initiated its investigation. The suspect was apprehended, interrogated, and subsequently placed in pre-trial detention. He will now face charges in the Lower Criminal Court.
