Ambassador's participation in Highlights of Indian Budget by SBI

H.E. Mr. Vinod K Jacob, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain participated in the discussions on the highlights of the Indian Budget 2024-25 organized by State Bank of India (SBI). The discussions centered on the presentation by Dr. Soumya Kanti Ghosh, Group Chief Economic Adviser, SBI.
In his remarks, Ambassador Jacob recalled his close collaboration with SBI during his tenure as Deputy High Commissioner in Colombo in implementation of the US$ 1 billion line of credit for Sri Lanka from 2022 to 23 - an important demonstration of the successful cooperation between the diplomatic and financial verticals in pursuit of Neighbourhood First policy.
Ambassador Jacob said that the Indian budget is keenly watched in Bahrain. The headline economic growth figure of 8 percent provides immense opportunities for both sides. This month marks the fifth anniversary of the state visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bahrain. In the past five years, two-way investments has increased by 40 percent and augurs well for the coming years.
