Tourism Minister Discusses Enhancing Joint Cooperation and Coordination with Kuwait Airways

Her Excellency Ms. Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, stressed the importance of unifying marketing and promotional efforts for the GCC countries as a singular tourist destination. She advocated for an integrated tourism system to foster growth in the travel and tourism sector across the region, thereby attracting more visitors and boosting tourism initiatives, in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s tourism strategy for 2022-2026, which identifies the GCC countries as a key target market.
This came during a coordination meeting between HE the Minister of Tourism and Captain Abdulmohsen Salem Al Fagaan, Chairman of Kuwait Airways, held during her visit to the sisterly State of Kuwait. During the meeting, they discussed the launch of special tourism packages in collaboration between the two parties, designed to enrich the experiences of tourists traveling between the two nations and diversify the available packages and services.
The Minister highlighted that joint coordination with Kuwait Airways will encourage intra-GCC tourism and promote the Arabian Gulf region as a cohesive tourist destination, in addition to activating the cooperation agreement in the tourism sector signed between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait.
The meeting also reviewed Bahrain’s key achievements and upcoming tourism projects while discussing ways to enhance collaboration during national holidays, regional and international events hosted by both Bahrain and Kuwait to strengthen tourism integration.
On his part, Capt. Al Faqaan expressed his delight at the opportunity to meet with HE the Minister of Tourism and the accompanying delegation during their visit to the Kuwait Airways building. He appreciated this significant visit, which is aimed at bolstering the bonds of cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain in the tourism sector.
As the national carrier of Kuwait, Capt. Al Fagaan emphasized Kuwait Airways’ integral role within the government framework, underscoring its commitment to participating in events, occasions and projects that enhance the interests of both nations.
Commenting further, Capt. Al Fagaan stated, “We also discussed with Her Excellency Ms. Fatima Al Sairafi during her visit the depth of relations between the State of Kuwait and the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, and the convergence of views between them in everything that serves the public interest of both sides and achieves the desired goals in building bridges of cooperation and ties between the two countries and contributes to strengthening them for the air transport sector.
Capt. Al Fagaan concluded by expressing gratitude and appreciation to HE the Minister of Tourism and the accompanying delegation to Kuwait Airways, conveying his sincere hopes for the continued strengthening of fraternal ties between the two countries, ultimately benefiting all stakeholders.
