Breathing new life into Bahrain’s tourism sector involves a strategic focus on promoting domestic tourism. This approach is essential for revitalising the local economy by supporting small investors. HE Abdulnabi Salman, First Deputy Speaker, has prioritised this initiative, calling for a streamlined licensing process for unlicensed swimming pools and rest houses in Buri.
His goal is to attract more local visitors and boost the economy. Mr. Salman explained that granting licenses to these facilities would help organise tourism activities while ensuring health and safety standards.
Public trust
This move aims to build public trust, provide recreational options, and drive the growth of domestic tourism. He highlighted that simplifying the licensing process would assist pool and rest house owners in expanding their businesses, leading to job creation and increased tourism spending.
Mr. Salman noted that supporting domestic tourism aligns with a broader strategy to enhance the national economy and achieve sustainable development.
