Her Excellency Karima Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council, has urged young people involved in empowerment and training initiatives to acquire practical experience across various national sectors. She emphasised the importance of exposing them to inspiring encounters and guidance from officials and leaders in different fields.

This, Al Abbasi suggested, would help bridge the gap between academic learning and its practical application, enhancing their grasp of present and future demands, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Al Abbasi’s remarks were delivered during her meeting with participants of the “Empowerment Lab for Bahraini Youth” programme, part of the 13th edition of the “Youth City 2030” initiative for 2024.

This gathering reflects the Shura Council Secretariat’s focus on community partnerships, collaboration with various institutions, and raising awareness of legislative work among the youth. The Secretary General commended the enthusiasm of the participants in the “Empowerment Lab for Bahraini Youth” as they sought to understand the role of the legislative authority in advancing the kingdom’s development agenda.

Empowerment

She acknowledged the government’s efforts, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in empowering the younger generations and enhancing their capabilities through advanced talent development programmes. Also, she recognised the importance of the “Youth City 2030” initiative, launched by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the HM King’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs.
