The American runner Alexis Holmes and Barbados’ Sada Williams also delivered solid performances, finishing sixth and seventh, respectively, with times of 49.75 and 49.81 seconds. Henriette Jaeger from Norway rounded out the field in eighth place with a time of 49.93 seconds.
