MP lauds Bahrain’s remarkable Olympic success

MP Mohammed Al Maarafi has expressed admiration for the major milestone achieved by Bahrain at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, where the nation claimed a gold medal in the women’s 3,000-metre steeplechase. Yesterday, Bahrain won a second medal, a silver, in the women’s 400 metres courtesy of Salwa Eid.

These victories highlight Bahrain’s growing prominence in international athletics.

Al Maarafi offered his warmest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who has been a central figure in promoting sports in the country, as well as to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He also acknowledged the roles of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

Al Maarafi pointed out that these victories are one of many in a series of sporting successes driven by the dedicated efforts of various teams, all of which are supported by the country’s forward-thinking leadership
