The Ministry of Housing is set to distribute hundreds of housing plots to eligible citizens in the coming weeks, as part of the new "Land and Loan" programme, according to parliamentary sources.
The programme, which is part of a wider package of housing initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of Bahraini citizens, will see the distribution of plots in various areas across the Kingdom. These include East Sitra, Jidhafs, Khalifa City, and other locations.
The "Land and Loan" scheme offers beneficiaries a housing plot along with a 40,000 Bahraini dinar loan to facilitate the construction of their homes. The programme also includes a two-year housing allowance for those with monthly incomes not exceeding 900 Bahraini dinars.
MP Mamoon Al Saleh confirmed that the detailed plan for the housing project in Jidhafs, specifically Block 422, has been approved. The project encompasses 313 housing plots which will be distributed through the "Land and Loan" programme.
Regarding the timeline for the distribution, Al Saleh stated that the Ministry of Housing will soon begin contacting beneficiaries based on their existing waiting lists.
Al Saleh extended his gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their unwavering commitment to addressing housing issues and ensuring the well-being of Bahraini citizens.
He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Housing Minister, Amina Al Rumaihi, for her tireless work in providing diverse housing options for citizens, reducing waiting lists, and offering tailored programmes to meet the needs of applicants across all governorates.
