In a significant step towards enhancing citizen services, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, the Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA), has announced the launch of a passport delivery service in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The service, now available through the Government Portal Bahrain.bh and the NPRA app (Bahrain-NPRA), is a collaborative effort with the Information and e-Government Authority and Tam Logistics and Trading Company.
This innovative service is part of the NPRA’s ongoing development efforts, which have been approved by the Cabinet as part of Bahrain’s broader digital transformation initiative.
The service underscores the NPRA's commitment to delivering distinguished and high-quality services to citizens, aligning with the Kingdom's strategic vision and goals.
Shaikh Hisham emphasized that the new service allows Bahraini citizens to issue and replace their passports without needing to visit service centers physically.
The process is designed to be straightforward and user-friendly, accessible via Bahrain.bh, and offers an added layer of convenience for citizens.
To ensure the highest levels of security, the service includes a verification process where a unique code is sent via text message to the applicant, which must be presented to receive the passport.
While there is an additional fee for using this delivery service, Shaikh Hisham encouraged citizens, residents, and visitors to take advantage of the NPRA’s wide range of e-services.
The introduction of this service marks a milestone in the NPRA's efforts to modernize its operations and provide more accessible and efficient services to the public.
