Established in 1999, Bongiyo Samaj, Bahrain stands as the oldest Bengali community club in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

India’s Independence Day is just not about celebrating our freedom, but to honour our past by building a strong future. As an Indian, Bahrain has always felt like a home away from home. The warmth of its people and the way it has embraced me with o p e n a r m s , offering the comf o r t o f familiarity while introducing me to the beauty of diversity. The strong Indian community here is a testament to the bonds that bridge our nations, and for that, I am forever grateful. No matter where life takes me, Bahrain will always hold a special place in my heart.

India’s Independence Day is a testament to the strength of unity and the power of realised ambition. As we celebrate India’s 78th Independence Day in Bahrain, it’s a moment to reflect on the enduring relationship between the two countries. Living in Bahrain since 2004, my experiences here have underscored the profound love and respect Bahrainis have for Indian people.

Therefore, it is no surprise that Indians constitute one fourth of Bahrain’s population. The flag hoisting ceremony at the Indian embassy on Independence Day, which I have attended over the years with my son, serves as a testament to this bond. India and Bahrain, despite their varied traditions and histories, have both adopted modernism while maintaining their individual identities. Together, they embody the essence of growth and harmony in an ever-evolving world.

I am lucky to have spent a substantial part of my life in Bahrain – in a country which is peace-loving and tolerant in a turbulent world. Bahrain is the second home for thousands of Indians who have reached the shores of this beautiful island nation in pursuit of their dreams. The law of the land which depicts that humanity triumphs over everything – has eased the process of setting up a home away from home.

On this 78th Independence Day of India - on behalf of fellow Indians - I render my gratitude and respect to the visionary leaders and all citizens of Bahrain. May the Almighty create an everlasting journey of love and friendship between these two countries.

My heartfelt Independence Day wishes to all Indians across Bahrain! On the occasion of India’s 78th Independence Anniversary, I am proud to see India on the path to becoming a global powerhouse. Its economy has demonstrated remarkable resilience compared to global trends. We have also observed significant business and bilateral commercial growth between India and Bahrain in the recent past.

The Indian Embassy and the Bahrain India Society are two major catalysts contributing to these success stories in Bahrain. Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is strengthening its position as one of the leading nations in the world.

On this Independence Day, I hope our nation’s strength continues to grow each day, and that we achieve even greater success and peace. Happy Independence Day!
