Bahrain's Emergency Services Respond to Over 16,000 Calls in June 2024

Bahrain's emergency services handled a significant number of calls in June 2024, according to statistics published in the Ministry of Interior's security magazine.
The operations room received a total of 16,100 reports, with traffic-related incidents accounting for 29% of the total.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense reported receiving 1,300 calls in June, including 223 fire incidents, 689 requests for assistance, 98 traffic accidents, and 15 reports of fallen poles, trees, and signs.
The Coast Guard received 249 reports, including 83 for rescue and ship breakdowns, 15 for maritime accidents, and 151 for assistance.
The National Ambulance Service received 4,500 calls, including 374 for traffic accidents, 3,000 for medical emergencies, 710 for transfers from private hospitals and health centers to emergency rooms, and 42 for fire incidents.
The statistics also revealed that the operations room received 1,600 reports in June, with patrol units responding to 14% of these calls.
Traffic incidents accounted for 29% of the calls, while security incidents made up only 4%.
The statistics further indicated that 9% of accidents resulted in fatalities, 48% resulted in serious injuries, and 43% resulted in minor injuries.
As of June 2024, there were approximately 760,645 licensed vehicles on the road in Bahrain.
