Bahrain stresses cooperation as key to overcoming crises and challenges

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, has emphasised the importance of adhering to the common bond that unites all nations in genuine cooperation to achieve peace, security, stability, development, and sustainable prosperity for all people worldwide.

He stressed this point during his virtual address at the 3rd Summit of the Voice of the Global South Summit, hosted by the Republic of India, under the theme “The Global South and Global Governance.”

Dr Al Zayani highlighted that the shared global bond is often overlooked during crises and challenges.

“Countries tend to focus on domestic affairs or form small groups with long-term allies, neglecting the broader need for equitable burden-sharing and ensuring that no one is left behind,” he stated.

He stressed that the principles of the United Nations Charter, the Millennium Development Goals, and the Sustainable Development Goals should guide global cooperation.

He urged nations to prioritise collective action and work together to address common challenges and build a more just and prosperous world for all.
