Ms. Maragadham (Name Modified) a Tamil Nadu native who had been facing difficulties in returning to India due to visa and passport issues.

Ms. Maragadham arrived in Bahrain a year ago on a visit visa but believed she had obtained a work visa. Unfortunately, subsequent employers also failed to provide the necessary work visa, and her passport remained with an agent. These circumstances hindered her attempts to travel back to India.

Annai Tamil Mandram, a social welfare organization in Bahrain, President Mr. Senthil GK, Assistant General Secretary Mr. Lalithkumar and Secretary of Social Welfare Department Mr. Arun Ramalingam are involved in the case and assisted by Ms. Maragadham in reaching out to the Indian Embassy.

With the Embassy's support, her passport was retrieved from the agent, and she was able to proceed to the Immigration Department.

However, due to her overstay, Ms. Maragadham faced a penalty of BD 1,000. Annai Tamil Mandram, in conjunction with the Indian Embassy, successfully advocated for a waiver of this penalty.

The Bahrain government graciously agreed to this request.
Annai Tamil Mandram thanking to the collective efforts of the Indian Embassy, Bahrain government officials, Tamil Nadu government.

Ms. Maragadham is now returning to India on August 17, 2024. We believe that this positive outcome is a testament to the compassion and cooperation shown by all parties involved.
