Housing Ministry gears up for construction of 1,400 new social housing units in Salman City

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning is gearing up to build 1,400 new social housing units in Salman City.

The new units will be constructed on Islands 10 and 11, with the ministry already initiating consulting studies for the project.

The ministry’s plan includes the construction of 720 social housing units on Island 11. Gulf House Engineering has been appointed to conduct the consulting studies for supervision and management of this project.

Additionally, 682 social housing units will be built on Islands 10 and 11, with Salfo & Partners undertaking the consulting studies for this phase.

In parallel, the ministry is preparing to launch the first phase of construction for commercial markets and shops in Salman City in October.

This phase aims to provide essential commercial services in the city and will include 15 commercial shops.

Ten of these shops will be located on Avenue 8307 in Block 583, behind Al Zahra Mosque.

Commercial shops The second project will involve the construction of five commercial shops in Complex 580, located on the Salman City coastline. This location offers a sea view, and the design will feature a distinctive “X” shape.

The second phase, expected to begin in the second half of 2025, will include a general market with a rental area of 1,600 square meters The market will feature seaview restaurants, eight commercial shops, 19 vegetable and fish stalls, a green space in the middle of the market with integrated central air conditioning, and all necessary facilities, services, and parking spaces.

Hypermarket Also in the second half of 2025, a large “hypermarket” with a total area of 2,500 square meters will be built on a total land area of 6,500 square meters.

This supermarket will be located on Avenue 92 in Block 583, adjacent to the Model Kindergarten.

These ambitious projects demonstrate the Ministry’s commitment to improving the quality of life in Salman City by providing affordable housing, essential services, and commercial opportunities for residents.
