As the new school year approaches, attention is intensifying on student safety, with a clear need for collaboration among parents, traffic officers, and school personnel to adhere to traffic regulations, particularly in school zones.

Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, Director General of the General Directorate of Traffic, has emphasised that student safety remains a central concern for the directorate with the school year approaching. He has called on parents to cooperate with traffic officers, community police, and school security staff to ensure students' safety. This includes adhering to traffic rules and paying particular attention to the safety of children during school drop-offs and pick-ups, especially in and around school zones.

The Director General also pointed out that traffic police and staff are active on roads throughout the year. As the school term begins, the directorate has implemented measures to manage traffic during peak times and the initial days of school, which are anticipated to be particularly congested. Additionally, the directorate has organised guidance and awareness sessions for all relevant parties to improve student safety near schools, wishing all students a safe and successful return to their studies.
