Two road projects are in the works: one in Isa Town, aimed at serving 1,023 properties, and another in Jidhafs, which will benefit 200 homes. The goal for both is to improve road conditions, drainage, and safety.

According to the Ministry of Works, these projects are progressing in the Capital and Northern Governorates.

The first project focuses on upgrading roads in Block 816, Isa Town, within the Capital Governorate. This involves reconstructing and resurfacing roads across 8.3 kilometres, from Road 1601 to 1631. The work includes tearing up old pavement and laying down a new asphalt surface, protecting existing utilities, creating underground channels for future use, and installing a rainwater drainage system. Safety measures will be strengthened with traffic signs, road markings, and speed bumps.

In Jidhafs, Northern Governorate, the second project will improve conditions for 200 homes and properties. Its purpose is to ease movement for residents and improve traffic flow and road safety.

This scheme covers roadworks in Blocks 421 and 423, where asphalt layers will be removed, base layers laid, and resurfacing done across 1.3 kilometres. Additional works include a rainwater drainage system, adjustments to underground services, and coordination with the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) for the installation of new lighting poles. Safety measures, such as traffic signs and road markings, will be implemented to meet road safety standards.
