Following the Cabinet’s decision to eliminate the restriction that prevented spouses from benefiting from inherited property when applying for housing assistance, MPs Mohsen Al Asbool, Jalila Al-Sayed, and Hisham Al Ashiri have lauded the Cabinet’s approval during its weekly meeting chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
This approval, of a proposal from the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amna Al Rumaihi, aims to enhance housing services by discarding the inherited property requirement and concentrating solely on income for eligibility certificates.
The MPs noted that this adjustment is in line with the government’s drive to refine regulations and elevate citizen satisfaction, with support from His Majesty the King. They also mentioned that the decision followed a proposal they and other MPs had introduced during the previous legislative session.
The MPs expressed their appreciation for the government’s housing measures and affirmed the Council of Representatives’ ongoing backing for beneficial government projects.
