NSSA Leads Discussions at Global 6G Summit

The National Space Sciences Agency (NSSA) participated in the Global Sixth Generation (6G) Summit held in the United Kingdom, sending several representatives to the event.

The summit attracted a wide range of senior figures from political and industrial spheres, including government officials and private telecommunications firms from over 40 countries.

Discussions focused on forward-thinking concepts and research regarding the future of 6G technology, with an emphasis on sustainability. The event also covered important factors and emerging uses related to this new generation of technology.

Engineer Reem Sinan commented, “The Global Sixth Generation Summit brought together a distinguished group of experts to address the challenges and opportunities presented by 6G technology, which is expected to be widespread by 2030. This was a momentous occasion to connect with global leaders and contribute to shaping a future that benefits various sectors, including space and emerging technologies.”

Engineer Youssef Al-Qattan observed, “The summit opened with a presentation on Bahrain’s successful adoption of fifth-generation technology, highlighting efficient and strategic approaches from the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency. The event also included an overview of the European Union’s plans and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA) strategies for deploying sixth-generation technologies in the United States.”

The conference, which drew over 450 participants, featured sessions on crucial topics such as the development of 6G technologies, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and policies related to frequency allocation in the 6G era.
