Parents are being urged to teach their children the importance of keeping personal details, whether their own or their family's, off social media. The advice also includes steering clear of unfamiliar links or adverts that could lead to hacking attempts and data breaches.

To protect young minds from the swelling tide of online exploitation and extortion, the Public Prosecution has issued practical advice, aiming to guide the nation’s youngsters towards safer internet habits. These new suggestions are part of the national “Himayah” campaign, reflecting increased concern over how easily children can fall into cyber trouble.

The Public Prosecution also warns against accepting friend requests from strangers and encourages the use of strong passwords, reminding both parents and children to keep those passwords out of the reach of prying eyes.

As the digital world expands, these steps seem vital for families looking to protect their children from the ever-growing threats of the internet.
