The Kingdom of Bahrain has successfully completed the development of 500 government services across 24 agencies, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency and quality of public services.

This ambitious project, aligned with the key pillars of Bahrain’s government plan for 2023-2026, was announced by His Excellency H.E. Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, who emphasized the government's dedication to simplifying procedures and removing obstacles to ensure better service delivery for citizens and residents.

The comprehensive development initiative, which was accomplished in just seven months, covered a wide array of services, including 240 services for individuals, 180 services for businesses, and 80 shared services. This overhaul was guided by the principles of sustainability, competitiveness, and justice, reflecting the broader developmental vision led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

As part of the initiative, the government achieved a 50% reduction in the documents required for various procedures, streamlining processes and making it easier for citizens and residents to access services swiftly and effectively. The steps for applying for electronic services have also been minimized to a maximum of four steps, significantly improving user experience and operational efficiency. Additionally, the duration of service level agreements was reduced by at least 25%, ensuring that high-quality services are delivered in the shortest possible time.

The minister also praised the efforts of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communications Technology (MICT), chaired by H.E. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, for its pivotal role in driving the continuous development of electronic government services. The committee's work has bolstered the technical sector and advanced Bahrain’s digital transformation goals.

To execute these developments, specialized working teams were established within each government agency, tasked with implementing service re-engineering proposals. These teams focused on enhancing service sustainability and quality through the adoption of modern technologies, all while keeping the citizen at the heart of the development process.

The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to facilitating and simplifying procedures, emphasizing that the initiatives undertaken will ensure the smooth and seamless delivery of government services across the Kingdom. The strategic objectives of this development also include achieving 100% electronic transformation of services and improving user experience by unifying service information across all channels.

This extensive development of government services is seen as a crucial step towards achieving Bahrain’s vision of providing world-class services to its citizens and residents, ensuring that the nation remains at the forefront of innovation and excellence in public service delivery.
