Al-Qahtani to Withdraw from Muharraq By-Elections

Malallah Al-Qahtani has announced that he will step away from the race for the parliamentary seat in the upcoming 2024 by-elections in Muharraq Governorate’s first constituency.
He explained that there isn’t sufficient time to put together a thorough electoral programme or plan for his parliamentary work, should he secure a seat in the Council of Representatives.
Al-Qahtani said that his decision followed discussions with his family and those close to him. He added that this withdrawal will serve as a turning point, allowing him to gear up for the 2026 parliamentary elections.
As for the formal submission of his withdrawal papers to the supervisory committee of the by-elections in Muharraq, he confirmed that he would file his request in the coming days, expressing his best wishes to the candidates still competing for the Busaiteen seat.
