A young man has been charged with drink-driving after losing control of his car, and crashing into two palm trees, according to official records. Following the accident, the defendant was taken to a medical facility for a blood alcohol test.
A report from the Ministry of Interior’s Public Health Directorate confirmed that the defendant’s blood alcohol level was 208 milligrams per 100 millilitres more than two and a half times the legal limit — rendering him unfit to drive.
Based on these facts, the court imposed a fine of BD1,000. In court, the defendant pleaded guilty to the charges and accepted the consequences. His lawyer, Taqi Hussain, was also present during the proceedings. The incident took place in Adliya.
