Tender Board Opens Bids for Key Contracts, With Prices Varying Widely Across Projects

On Monday, the Tender Board opened bids for seven contracts from ministries and government agencies.
First on the agenda, the Survey & Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) called for proposals from cadastral offices to prepare and audit transactions related to government properties.
This includes surveying government real estate, issuing maps, and producing survey certificates. Seven bids were submitted, although three were later suspended.
Awtad Engineering and Surveying Office made the lowest offer at BHD 1.100, while Ansari Engineering Services topped the accepted bids with BHD 4,741.000.
Next, Bilaj Al Jazayer Real Estate Development Company is seeking procurement consultancy firms to provide their proposals for its hotels and residences.
CPM I Hospitality Project Services put forward the lowest bid at BHD 22,879.000, with The Parker Company (Middle East) submitting the highest at BHD 265,320.000.
Elsewhere, the Ministry of Works invited proposals to operate and maintain the North Sitra sewage treatment plant for two years, aiming to produce treated sewage effluent that meets the facility’s design standards.
Wa Tech Water Technology submitted the lowest bid at BHD 208,212.727, while Zohal Construction’s offer came in highest at BHD 599,908.177.
In another tender, three bids were accepted for an RFP from the Central Stores Directorate – EWA, for the supply of switchboards and VCB panels at 11KV.
Universal Electro-Engineering submitted the lowest offer at BHD 99,000.000, while Abdulkhaliq Alanssari bid the highest at BHD 117,579.000.
The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture plans to build a new engineered landfill in a quarry west of Askar, Khalifa City, expected to be ready to receive waste by 2025.
The ministry seeks an environmental consultant to assess the impact of the landfill on the surrounding area.
The consultant will base the study on a design prepared by others and propose ways to mitigate any environmental harm.
Bureau Veritas submitted the lowest bid at BHD 37,955.500, while AECOM Middle East Limited came in highest at BHD 113,776.740.
The University of Bahrain has also received three bids for consulting services aimed at replacing and maintaining old air conditioning systems across its campuses in Sakhir, Isa Town, and Salmaniya.
Phoenix Engineering Services made the lowest bid at BHD 197,811.000, while Dheya Towfiqi Engineering Consultancy Bureau submitted the highest bid at BHD 510,448.180.
Finally, Bapco Upstream issued an RFP for Borger pumps, specifically lobe-type pumps that require genuine spare parts due to their unique mechanical seal design.
Long-term purchase agreements are needed to meet maintenance needs, reduce reorder times, and streamline procurement. Only one bid was revealed for this RFP, valued at BHD 32,550.028.
