Bahrain and UK Strengthen Historic Ties, Emphasise Shared Goals

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has reaffirmed the strong historical ties between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, highlighting a relationship rooted in over 200 years of collaboration, coordination, and effective partnerships across all sectors.

During a meeting with the Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, at 10 Downing Street, the Crown Prince emphasised Bahrain's unwavering commitment to strengthening the close ties between the two friendly nations and pushing the scope of joint efforts towards a more comprehensive future. This, His Royal Highness stated, would contribute to the broader development goals spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain.

Moreover, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister praised the advanced levels achieved in bilateral cooperation between Bahrain and the UK, stressing the importance of constructing upon existing strategic partnerships to achieve shared objectives and aspirations.

He acknowledged the UK's prominent role in bolstering security, peace, and development in the region and globally, highlighting Bahrain's support for all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in the region. This, His Royal Highness underscored, would safeguard security and stability, contributing to the continued progress and prosperity of the peoples and nations of the region and the world.

The meeting also saw discussions on matters of mutual interest and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, along with an overview of the latest regional and international developments.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, His Excellency Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom, and Mr Hamad bin Yaqoub Al Mahmeed, Director General of the Office of the Prime Minister.
