Mohammed Shahid Congratulates Newly Elected ICC Independent Chair Jay Shah

Mohammed Shahid, Advisor to the President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and President of BRAVE Combat Federation and CEO of KHK Sports, has extended his congratulations to Jay Shah on being elected as the new independent chair of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Jay Shah, who currently serves as the Honorary Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), was elected unopposed as the independent chair of the ICC. He will officially take on his new role starting December 1, 2024.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Jay Shah on his election as the independent chair of the ICC. During his tenure as the Secretary of the BCCI, Jay Shah has demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision. I am confident that under his guidance, the ICC will usher in a new era for the world of cricket," said Mohammed Shahid.
Jay Shah played a key role in making the ICC Men’s World Cup in India the most attended cricket world cup ever and has been at the forefront of initiatives like the Women’s Premier League. He visited Bahrain in December 2023 to attend BRAVE CF 80, where he praised the vision of His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa for the development of cricket in Bahrain.
Cricket has been rapidly growing in popularity in Bahrain, reflecting the overall success of the sports ecosystem in the Kingdom. The growth is part of the broader achievements under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, including Bahrain's success at the Paris Olympics and the rise of BRAVE Combat Federation which has solidified its position as a global leader in MMA by hosting events in 34 countries, making it the most hosted MMA organization in the world.
