Abdulrahman Jamsheer passed away yesterday at the age of 80 after a prolonged illness. Jamsheer was a distinguished figure in Bahrain, in both politics and business, serving as a Shura Council member before his death.

His career left a lasting mark across various sectors. He played a key role in shaping Bahrain’s political landscape, notably as Secretary-General of the National Action Charter of 2002, crucial to the charter’s formation and approval.

Jamsheer began at the Ministry of Agriculture before moving to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). In 1973, he founded the National Import and Export Company, which evolved into Esterad Investment.

As General Manager and later Managing Director, he made significant contributions to the Investment Committee.
