Number of Candidates for Muharraq's By-Election in Al Busaiteen Constituency Remains at Seven

The Supervisory Committee for the Safety of the 2024 Supplementary Elections announced the closure of the candidate withdrawal period for the Muharraq's 1st (Busaiteen) constituency on Wednesday.
Dr Ali Al Shuwaikh, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for the Supplementary Elections in the First Constituency of Muharraq Governorate, confirmed that only one withdrawal request was approved, meaning the number of candidates remains at seven, consisting of five men and two women.
Dr Al Shuwaikh also noted that two candidates had submitted requests to appoint proxies for Election Day, both of which were approved. He reminded candidates that all campaign activities must cease 24 hours before Election Day.
The list of candidates competing for the vacant seat in the Al Busaiteen constituency includes businessman Ebrahim Al Shaikh, former MP Hamad Al Kooheji, Abdulwahed Qarata, Abdulaziz Al Manaei, Saleh Al Sada, lawyer Dr Khawla Al Shamsi, and Dr Nada Bin Shams.
