Consultative meeting discusses people with disabilities’ welfare

Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, Acting Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), chaired a consultative meeting with civil society organisations focused on disability. The meeting discussed 2024 initiatives concerning women with disabilities and those caring for disabled individuals, reaching consensus on implementation mechanisms. Al Awadhi highlighted the need for coordinated efforts between the SCW and relevant organisations to enhance and sustain services for women with disabilities.
Key proposals included simplifying the process for obtaining medical disability reports, expanding the number of authorised medical providers, and introducing a 50% reduction on government fees for women with disabilities.
