Bahrain Polytechnic Concludes "Learning for All: Artificial Intelligence for Student Success" Symposium

Bahrain Polytechnic’s CEO, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, affirmed that artificial intelligence can revolutionize the way teaching and learning are conducted. It also enhances the Polytechnic's capabilities in providing innovative education for all by enabling academics to embrace diversity in the classroom, utilize AI-supported assessment tools, and implement effective industry projects.
Additionally, AI aids academics in identifying and addressing students' needs, fostering collaboration and communication, and offering valuable insights into student performance and engagement.
This came at the conclusion of the symposium "Learning for All: Artificial Intelligence for Student Success," recently organized by Bahrain Polytechnic, with the participation of a group of academics, industry leaders, and experts from Bahrain and internationally. The symposium witnessed a large turnout from academics and enthusiasts alike.
Professor Ó Catháin added: "This symposium serves as a valuable and inspiring experience for Bahrain Polytechnic, as we continue our mission to transform our institution into a 'Polytechnic for All' by leveraging AI technologies and their significant potential to continuously enhance and develop education and training. This contributes to increasing efficiency, enhancing student engagement, improving learning outcomes, and creating comprehensive, engaging, and future-ready learning environments."
In the same context, the symposium organizer, Hawra Nooh, stated: "We are pleased that this year's symposium included the attendance of various experts as speakers from Ireland, the United States, and India to share their experiences in using artificial intelligence, along with the participation of several major companies in the field of digital education. For the first time, the conference is offering six creative applied labs, reflecting our commitment to enhancing innovation in education and providing a platform for exchanging new ideas and insights."
She continued: "We are proud that Bahrain Polytechnic is a pioneer in adopting and integrating new advancements into the curricula. We are also committed to providing academics with the necessary training to make the learner the focal point of the educational process, thus enhancing the quality of education and enriching the student experience."
The conference, held over two days, discussed several topics focusing on the importance of employing AI in the process of teaching and learning.
Key highlights included: best practices for implementing industrial projects in schools, formulating impactful peer feedback in education, applying institutional philosophy in Master's programs, problem-solving-based practical learning for effective assessments, ethical considerations in AI-supported assessment, conversational AI teachers, a range of AI-supported learning tools and platforms for adaptive learning, enhancing classroom participation using AI, problem-solving-based practical learning for effective assessments, and enabling teachers to use AI-supported assessment tools.
