The Capital Governorate Police have arrested a 39-year-old Arab national on charges of fraud and theft, after he allegedly scammed two individuals and stole 5,800 dinars from them.

Upon receiving two separate reports, the police immediately launched an investigation, gathering information and evidence.

This led to the identification and arrest of the suspect.

Investigations revealed that the suspect met the victims, promising to sell them foreign currency at rates lower than those offered by exchange bureaus.

He then seized the cash they had and fled the scene.

The Capital Governorate Police stated in a statement that legal proceedings have been initiated and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.

The police urged the public to exercise caution and avoid dealing with unknown individuals.
