A brawl involving five Asian men in the heart of Manama has resulted in one of them sustaining a permanent injury after being struck with a chair. The victim was rendered unconscious by the blow, which left him with a permanent disability.

The incident occurred when two groups of men clashed in the capital. The first group comprised three men, aged 30, 24, and 42, while the second group consisted of two men, aged 22 and 25.

Both groups engaged in a violent altercation, using fists, metal and plastic chairs as weapons. The fight resulted in injuries to all involved, with the 25-year-old man from the second group suffering a permanent disability as a result of the altercation, though not intentionally caused.

During questioning by the Public Prosecution, the three men from the first group confessed to assaulting the two men from the second group.

The 22-year-old man from the second group stated that the 30-year-old man from the first group had struck the 25-year-old man on the head with a metal chair, causing his injuries.

The 25-year-old victim reported that he and his cousin, the 22-year-old man, were in Manama when they were attacked by a group of seven individuals. He recalled being hit on the head with an object, possibly a chair or table, but couldn't remember the details of the attack as he lost consciousness and only regained it in the hospital.

The Public Prosecution has charged the 30-year-old man with assault causing permanent injury, despite not intending to cause such harm. The two other men from the first group have been charged with assault against both men from the second group. The two men from the second group have been charged with assault against the three men from the first group.

The Public Prosecution has requested the maximum sentence for all defendants in their defense memorandum. The High Criminal Court has scheduled a hearing for September 30th to deliver its verdict.
