Education Minister attends UNESCO award ceremony

Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, participated in the award ceremony for the UNESCO-King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Education.
The event was organised by the Ministry of Education and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) at the organization’s headquarters in Paris.
The ceremony was attended by Ms. Stefania Giannini, UNESCO’s Assistant Director-General for Education, senior officials from UNESCO and education ministries around the world, members of the diplomatic corps, media representatives, researchers, specialists in information and communication technologies, and a number of Bahraini students studying in French universities.
Dr. Juma, along with the Assistant Director-General for Education at UNESCO, presented the award to the two winning projects in its fifteenth edition.
The winners were: the “Connecting the Dots: Data-Driven Carbon Literacy” project by the GoGo School Teachers’ Association from the Republic of Korea, and the “EducoNetImpact” project by a group of researchers at the University of Mons.
