In the next academic year onwards, 10 Bahraini students will have the opportunity to study in Hungary under new scholarship programs.
This initiative is part of a broader agreement signed between Hungary and the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Bahrain to enhance cooperation in the education sector.
The announcement was made during the official visit of Peter Szijjarto, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to Bahrain.
The details were revealed during a press conference held yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the Minister, His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, in attendance. In addition to the educational agreements, an official agreement on investment protection between the two countries was signed before the press briefing.
The Hungarian Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of this agreement, noting that more investment opportunities are on the horizon. One such opportunity involves a technology company investing in cashless payment solutions by focusing on mega events in Bahrain.

We received vaccines only from you. That’s how we managed to endorse the vaccine. You saved many lives,” he stated.
Commitment to peace
Minister Szijjarto also emphasised Hungary’s commitment to peace, expressing strong support for the Abraham Accords and condemning terrorism. “We stand for peace and are proud to be united in this cause. Every human deserves the right to live peacefully in the world, and we raise our voices against terrorism,” he said.
He also commended Bahrain’s Olympic successes and mentioned his meeting with the Minister of Youth Affairs, indicating further areas of collaboration between the two nations.

Dr. Al Zayani praised the ongoing cooperation that strengthens the bond between Bahrain and Hungary, highlighting the significant economic developments this partnership has fostered. He noted the importance of past high-level visits, including the 2019 visit by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Hungary and the 2023 visit by the Hungarian President to Bahrain, underscoring their crucial role in enhancing bilateral ties.
