The Customs Affairs’ initiatives have resulted in achieving record times in the dispatch of trucks at the King Fahad Causeway, with an average crossing time of 46 minutes during peak times for trucks during the second quarter of the current year.

This came as the President of Customs and Deputy Chairman of the King Fahad Causeway General Organisation, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, visited the King Fahad Causeway in the presence of the organisation’s CEO, Yousif bin Ibrahim Al Abdan and Customs Affairs officials. He was briefed on the causeway’s facilities and inspected Bahrain’s side of the customs sections.

The customs head hailed the efforts of employees and dedication to process travelling procedures and the traffic of goods. Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad indicated that the causeway’s efforts to increase the operational capacity of the project to develop the areas of the procedure for travellers resulted in a 50% increase at a rate of 2,500 vehicles per hour. Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad added that the daily transit rate during weekdays reached 39,000 vehicles and trucks in both directions.
