Bahrain calls for Global action on Gaza ceasefire

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, called on the international community yesterday to take responsibility for de-escalating the situation in Gaza.
He reiterated Bahrain’s urgent call for a ceasefire, enhanced protection for civilians, and the facilitation of humanitarian aid.
Speaking at the ministerial coordination meeting in Madrid, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah highlighted the need to advance the two-state solution, resolve the ongoing conflict, and prepare for a high-level event at the 79th UN General Assembly.
The meeting included key figures such as the Arab-Islamic Joint Ministerial Committee on Gaza, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, various European foreign ministers, and Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah also advocated for support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s initiative, endorsed by the 33rd Arab Summit, to host an international peace conference for the Middle East.
