Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam emphasised that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision has advanced Bahrain’s democratic practices, strengthening the rule of law, civic participation, and institutional governance.

In a statement marking the International Day of Democracy, Al Musallam highlighted Bahrain’s significant progress since the launch of the National Action Charter, which laid the foundations for a democratic model based on the separation of powers and effective cooperation between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. He emphasised that this framework has enabled Bahrain to achieve stability and foster broader public participation in governance, contributing to the country’s overall development.

The lawmaker reiterated that Bahrain’s approach to democracy is characterised by a commitment to inclusive governance, ensuring that laws and policies are implemented following constitutional principles. He also noted that Bahrain continues its commitment to democratic development in its sixth legislative term, focusing on cooperation with the government to serve national interests and safeguard progress.
