A memorandum of understanding has been signed to promote cooperation in offering specialised educational programmes for the directorate’s affiliates and the alternative sanctions’ beneficiaries.

It was signed by Dr Waheeb Ahmed Al Khaja, the Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid Al Khalifa and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Applied Science University (ASU). The initiative is part of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa’s support for strengthening education and training for the beneficiaries to reintegrate them into society.

Per the MoU, the ASU will offer an education and training programme to enhance the skills and competencies of the beneficiaries to improve their chances of getting job opportunities. Both sides agreed that the step to develop cooperation with education and reformation institutions to achieve sustainable development was significant.
