In a notable collaborative effort, the Royal Medical Services and the Bahrain Trust Foundation have inaugurated the "Military Hospital Micro School" within the pediatric ward and children’s clinic of the hospital. The event, which took place at the hospital's premises, was attended by Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, wife of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The Military Hospital Micro School aims to provide educational support to young patients during their hospital stay. By continuing their daily activities, lessons, and homework, the initiative helps maintain their academic progress and positively impacts their treatment outcomes.

Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa expressed her gratitude for the generous support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of the King of Bahrain and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Women. Her Royal Highness’s support underscores the importance of ensuring continuous education for all, particularly for sick children whose academic achievements might be affected by their hospital stay.

Shaikha Hessa highlighted the effective collaboration between the Royal Medical Services and Bahrain Trust Foundation in creating an environment conducive to learning. The newly established spaces are equipped with the latest technologies and modern educational tools, ensuring that children benefit from education while receiving medical treatment.

"Continuing education for sick children is crucial in enhancing their psychological well-being, which in turn speeds up their recovery," said Shaikha Hessa. She emphasized that this initiative not only strengthens the children’s determination but also reassures their families about their educational future. The success of this project is expected to inspire other health institutions in Bahrain to adopt similar initiatives, aligning with the kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals of advancing education quality and investing in human capital.

Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al Blooshi, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of Bahrain Trust Foundation, expressed her pride in the launch of the third hospital school affiliated with the foundation. She noted that this initiative represents the fruitful cooperation and partnership with government institutions and the support of the Bahraini people.

Dr. Al Blooshi emphasized that the project reflects the foundation’s deep commitment to providing a supportive educational environment for children, particularly in challenging health conditions. "Integrating education and healthcare into a unified framework offers children a unique opportunity to continue their learning and development while receiving the necessary medical care," she said, extending her gratitude to the Commander of the Royal Medical Services for his substantial support in bringing this project to fruition.

The Military Hospital Micro School, which began its activities in the pediatric ward of King Hamad University Hospital in 2022, has already garnered positive feedback from young patients and their families, marking a significant step forward in supporting the educational needs of children undergoing medical treatment.
