A 40-year-old housemaid has been accused of stealing her employer's bank card and using it to withdraw a total of 1650 Bahraini dinars.
The woman, who is from an Asian country, allegedly observed her employer making payments with the card, memorizing the PIN number.
She then used the card for her own benefit and to transfer funds to her family back home.
The victim discovered the theft after noticing multiple transactions on his card, made at different locations and dates.
When confronted, the housemaid admitted to the crime and returned the stolen card.
The employer then filed a formal complaint with the authorities.
During investigations, the Public Prosecution questioned the suspect, who confessed to stealing the card and using it at various locations.
She admitted to observing her employer while he was making payments, memorising the PIN number in the process.
The housemaid then used the stolen card and PIN to withdraw funds for her own use and to send money to her family in her home country through international transfers.
The Public Prosecution has charged the suspect with using the victim's electronic signature and bank card PIN for fraudulent purposes.
The charges allege that she illegally obtained the victim's money through deceptive means.
The case has been referred to the High Criminal Court, with a hearing scheduled for September 22nd. The accused remains in custody.
