Key improvements to the Manama Central Market are nearing completion, officials confirmed yesterday, as part of broader efforts to modernise Bahrain’s main trading hub.
Among the latest upgrades, five new air conditioners have been installed in the fish market and four in the meat market, ensuring more comfortable conditions for traders and customers alike.
These enhancements are part of a larger effort to modernise the market’s facilities, addressing the needs of both vendors and the public.
As part of this initiative, numerous projects have already been executed, demonstrating a clear intent to improve the market’s appeal. Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs, affirmed the Ministry’s role in advancing these developments.
“Our aim is to improve conditions for both traders and visitors,” he remarked. Saleh Taher Tarada, Chairman of the Capital Municipality Council, added, “These improvements are crucial for creating a more vibrant trading environment, and the Council stands firmly behind this progress.”
