The Small Vessel Registration Office, operating under the Ministry of Transportation, processed over 1,788 transactions in August 2024, underscoring a sustained interest in recreational boating and a variety of water activities across the Kingdom.
Throughout the month, the office managed an extensive range of transactions.
This included the issuance of 741 sailing licences (both new and renewed), the registration of 246 boats (new and renewed), the completion of 240 technical inspections, and the transfer of ownership for 189 vessels.
In addition to these services, the office also issued 168 licence plates, registered 94 jet skis (new and renewed), updated 94 certificates, issued 10 replacement certificates, and finalised 6 deregistrations.
Jet skis Looking back to July, the office recorded 103 new and renewed jet skis, issued 977 navigation licences, and registered 365 new and renewed ships.
They further processed 98 changes to licence information, conducted 305 inspections, issued 208 number plates, transferred ownership for 234 vessels, finalised 12 deletion certificates, and issued 11 replacement certificates and licences. This brings the total number of transactions handled by the office in July to an impressive 2,313.
These figures clearly illustrate the critical role of the Small Vessel Registration Office in ensuring the safety and compliance of small vessels operating within Bahrain.
The office is tasked with overseeing all vessels with a gross tonnage of less than 150 tons, in accordance with Royal Decree (32) of 2020. Moreover, the office plays a vital role in supporting the expanding boating and water sports sector in Bahrain, providing essential services for recreational boaters, fishing vessels, and jet ski owners alike.
